I love Antipodes products and after reading some good reviews about Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream I decided to give it a try. So far all the products that I’ve tried from Antipodes (cleanser and face creams) I loved so I was excited to try their eye cream as well. But did it impress me like the other products from Antipodes? Read my full review to find out.

Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream
Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream is a fragrance-free cream suitable for all skin types. It has been designed specifically to soften fine lines and at the same time moisturise the precious area around the eyes. This cream is suitable for vegans.
The cream has been scientifically shown to stimulate type I collagen production in human fibroblast skin cells by up to 82%. But what does this mean? And when do you actually need to ‘stimulate’ collagen production?
I did a quick search on Google to learn more about collagen and what happens with collagen production as we get older.
Collagen and its production as we age
I’ve learnt that collagen is a protein found naturally in the body and helps our skin looking young by maintaining its elasticity and keeping it firm and smooth. As we age our bodies produce less collagen and this results in the common signs of ageing such as wrinkles and sagging skin.
There are certain things you can do to boost collagen in your skin and one of them is including more fruits and vegetables into your diet. This is how you increase your intake of vitamin C and other antioxidants which are all important for collagen production. Vitamin C is also beneficial when applied to the skin topically.
So it’s a good thing that Antipodes eye cream is rich in vitamin C which comes from the New Zealand kiwifruit. The cream also contains other ingredients which help to maintain skin youthfulness. More about them later.
But when does the collagen production in our skin start to decline? You may be surprised but as soon as you turn 20, the dermis layer of your skin will produce 1% less collagen each year. In your 30s you will start to see more fine lines and wrinkles appearing so it’s important to use effective natural skin care products as early as you can. Prevention is always better than dealing with already existing ‘issues’!
Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream Ingredients
The key ingredients that you will find in this eye cream are as follows:
- Kiwi Fruit Seed Oil – this oil contains around 60% of Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA) or Omega 3 as well as being a rich source of Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Helps maintain skin moisture and repairs damaged tissue.
- Carrot Seed Oil – steam-distilled carrot seeds produce a golden orange oil which is rich in Vitamins C and E. Serves to improve skin tone and complexion and awaken tired, dull skin.
- Avocado Oil – hydrates the skin and helps to increase collagen production.
- Vinanza Grape Seed Extract – this antioxidant extract helps to improve the elasticity and firmness of the skin.
- Sunflower Seed Oil – it has moisturising properties and it’s high in vitamin E.
- Borage Oil – nourishing oil that will plump and smooth your skin.

How did I get on with Antipodes Kiwi Eye cream? My honest review
This Antipodes cream is light and silky smooth in texture, easy to apply and quick to absorb. It doesn’t leave your eyes feeling heavy and it’s totally non-greasy despite all the oils it contains.
You can easily apply the makeup on top if you like. The cream hydrates the eye area sufficiently and even the most sensitive eyes won’t feel irritated by it.
A luscious yet light eye cream that provides a cooling and soothing sensory experience. Super rich Vitamin C from the seed of the New Zealand kiwi works superbly to repair damaged tissue.
I’ve been using it twice a day, in the morning and at night. I don’t think I’ve noticed a big difference in my eye area, to be honest. I still have fine lines underneath my eyes which are not overly visible but I can see them when checking my face closely in the mirror.
I’ve been using this eye cream for less than 2 months (I think it’s been around 6 weeks), so maybe if I use it a little bit longer I will see some good results with my fine lines. But I don’t know, I will see. I read some reviews saying that it took 2 months before they saw a big difference.
To be honest, I should have taken a picture of my eyes before starting to use this eye cream as then I would be able to see whether there is any difference in my eye area at all. It could be that the difference is very subtle so I haven’t noticed it.
I think this eye cream is great for those in their late 20s and early 30s, to hydrate the eye area and prevent ageing. But it can also be used by those who are 40+ although I am not sure how effective will be against wrinkles. It’s worth trying though.
Can Antipodes eye cream help with dark circles?
I don’t normally have issues with dark circles, only sometimes so I cannot comment how well this eye cream works for that. However, many people reported that this cream helped them minimise the look of dark circles under the eyes and some even reported that they totally got rid of them. It may take some time to work though so you have to be patient!
How long will the Antipodes eye cream last?
The jar is much smaller than it looks in the first picture – it’s only 30ml jar but after using it twice a day for less than 2 months I still have plenty of cream left (more than 2/3 of the jar). And I’ve been very generous with how much I apply. I also cover skin above my eyelids and even eyelids sometimes to try and delay the ageing of my skin.
Once you open the jar, it’s recommended to use it within 6 months. Based on the current usage so far, I am confident this will last me for at least 6 months. And this is great because the cream is not cheap (£30+), so at least it will last you for ages. In the end, it turns out to be quite cost-effective actually as you don’t have to purchase another eye cream for a very long time.
Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream – Final thoughts
Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream contains all the right ingredients to help with collagen production and when you use it for a long time you should definitely see some kind of improvement to your eye are. Some people report they started to see a difference after a few weeks while others say they’ve noticed a big difference after 2 months. I haven’t used it for very long time (less than 2 months) and haven’t noticed a massive difference but I didn’t have deep wrinkles to start with, only barely visible fine lines. These are still there, haven’t got rid of them but I will continue using this cream and see what happens when I use it for a little bit longer.
Would I recommend it? I think it’s definitely worth using to prevent ageing and minimise the appearance of fine lines but you have to be patient as it may take some time before you see any difference. I like that the cream is light in texture, non-greasy and can be applied underneath the makeup but it’s a bit costly for a small jar like that (30ml – £31.99).
